It is expected that by the end of the year, there will be 300,000 fewer federal workers in the U.S. Right here in the DMV, federal workers are losing jobs at a faster rate than the rest of the country. This growing unemployment crisis in the DMV, with thousands of individuals and their families displaced and in distress, has created an urgent need for accessible mental health care.
Therapy 4 Feds is a new mental health organization that understands losing a federal job can be traumatic and trigger uncertainty and stress about finances, family, and the future. Therapy 4 Feds is addressing this crisis by supporting federal employees with pro bono to low-cost access to therapy, both virtual and in-person, through a network of certified mental health counselors and practitioners.
Founded by Rosalyn Beroza, a DMV therapist with more than 40 years of experience specializing in trauma and life transitions, Therapy 4 Feds believes that just as mental health support is mobilized after a natural disaster in this country, our federal employees deserve the same care during the current crisis.
Through its online platform, Therapy 4 Feds is doing purposeful work by supporting federal workers when it matters most and creating opportunities for mental health professionals to serve in impactful ways. At Nazareth Bonifacino Law, we are proud to work with organizations like Roslyn’s that are guided by compassion and addressing urgent needs in their communities.
Are you a therapist who would like to join the growing Therapy 4 Feds network? To serve more federal workers, the organization is actively seeking more licensed therapists to be part of this vital mission. Interested therapists can reach out via the Therapy 4 Feds website.
If you are a federal worker who has been impacted by the recent government downsizing and need help navigating this new chapter, you can get access to free or low-cost therapy from a licensed therapist by using the Therapy 4 Feds platform to find a therapist near you.
