For over 10 years, Bella Ballet in the Kentlands has been building confident ballerinas, one twirl at a time®. Under the inspiring leadership of Hope MacDonald, Bella Ballet does more than just teach dance steps. Bella Ballet instills a sense of empowerment in every child who enters their studio. It is no surprise that a second location, Empower by Bella Ballet, opened this Fall.
The second location is an intentional space for children ages 7-18 where they teach dance, and more importantly, cultivate an environment that encourages life-affirming values of resilience, leadership, inclusivity, and kindness. The studio promotes a culture that uplifts every dancer to have a strong sense of self-esteem and body image, celebrates diversity, and stand fiercely against bullying.
Bella Ballet also teaches its dancers to give back to the community in monthly outreach activities and hosting special events to support beloved local charities including “Comfort Cases”, “The Tree House Mid-Atlantic”, and “Nourish Now”. Bella Ballet’s goal is to show its dancers that they can make a difference, inspiring them to be active contributors to their community.
Ginny serves as outside general counsel for this purpose-driven, amazing dance studio. Her daughter is starting her second season as a dancer.
